Dr. Petermann works collaboratively with her clients in a respectful and caring way. She offers a non-judgmental and supportive therapeutic relationship toward healing. She sees the clients’ support system (family, friends and community) as an important ally in reaching that goal and often weaves cultural awareness and sensitivity into her therapeutic work. With children she actively involves families in the treatment and works together as a team with the parents, schools, and any outside agencies involved in the child’s life. She believes that working together with her clients’ support system, effective change and personal growth can be nurtured and better sustained towards a happier life.
